TPE,TPR thermoplastic elastomer materials and people's daily life are increasingly inseparable. However, some TPE products that come into contact with human skin, such as earphone cords, tool handles, sex toys, intelligent wearing products, etc., have put forward certain requirements on the dryness of TPE materials. How to make TPE materials with good surface dryness?
1. Oil selection
It is said that paraffin-based oil has better solubility with SEBS, SBS and other substrates, and feels drier.
2. SEBS and SBS brand selection
Select the brand of raw materials with high oil absorption and oil locking. It is said that SEBS and SBS brands with high butadiene content have better oil absorption.
3. Mixing system plus functional additives
For products such as earphone cords, the surface feels very smooth. It is necessary to add additional functional additives (such as erucic acid and oleic acid) to improve smoothness. However, attention should be paid to the addition amount to avoid precipitation. Another example is ultra-soft TPE products such as sex toys. Sometimes some smooth powder is added to improve the uncomfortable feeling of sticking on the product surface.
4. Selection of Special Materials
For some products with special hand feeling requirements, such as smart wearing bracelets. The wristband material is required to be dry (or silky), stain-resistant and not irritating to skin. At this time, the conventional TPE compound may be difficult to meet the requirements, so different matrixes and main compounds need to be adopted.
